East India Company One Quarter Anna 1835 – British India Copper Coin

An original East India Company One Quarter Anna copper coin dated 1835, issued during the period of British East India Company rule in India.

One side carries the elaborate East India Company coat of arms, featuring the central shield supported by two lions, with the company crest above and the date 1835 below. The opposite side displays the denomination ONE QUARTER ANNA within a laurel wreath, together with the East India Company legend and Persian denomination.

The coin has seen circulation and retains a pleasing natural brown copper patina. The principal lettering, denomination, date and company arms remain clearly identifiable, giving the piece good historical and visual appeal.

A classic early British Indian issue and a suitable addition to collections of East India Company coinage, British India, colonial Indian history and 19th-century copper coins.
